Opening of Atelier NOUA

Atelier NŌUA is an artist-driven studio and arena for photo as contemporary art in Bodø city centre, opening by the artists Marianne Bjørnmyr and Dan Mariner in 2017.

NŌUA is an academic and social venue and a meeting point for both national and international artists. NOUA is an platform for temporary events such as lectures, art talks, artist stays, photo library and other internal and external projects. NOUA promotes debate and innovative thinking around ‘photography as contemporary art’ and wishes to create deeper conversations about the photograph and its value to the public.

NŌUA also houses the artists' own production unit and consists of research rooms, offices, dark room, construction spaces and a framing workshop.
